New items for 2012 by Airfix!

For 2012 in 1/76 scale military vehicles and resin buildings there will be nothing new and something new IMHO!

One of the 2 new AFV's is a "Mathilda":

The other one is "King tiger":

This one will have a "New tooling"!

The interesting news for me are the resin buildings:

This year the main theme will be "the bridge":

Narrow road bridge road span:

Narrowroad bridge broken span:

Don't forget: The images are just samples!

Zvezda 2011 news!

A few days earlier I found in web the new products of Zvezda for 2011, but in IMHO they were not complete, so that I waited with this news.

But now, after the rumors about Zvezda's 'possible' production stop in 1/72 historic sets, these could be the right time for the announcement of Zvezda's 2011 news, so that we can estimate the rumors better.

There are no photos just drawings for the coming figures in 1/72 scale:

Roman field artillery:

Spartans:

As far as I know, those were announced even for 2010.

WW2 German infantry (something new(!) in our hobby):

WW2 Soviet infantry:

Without drawings:

-French HQ

-Russian Cossacks (Napoleonics)

-Russian Shooters (Napoleonics)

-French Line Infantry

And in 1/72 scale military vehicles there are at the moment no photos, no drawings:

World War II Soviet Heavy Tank - Two-pack rapid build tanks - Glue necessary.

World War II German Tank - Two-pack rapid build tanks - Glue necessary

I think those are another fast kits, from "My first model kit"-series, which I reported:

http://worldin172scale.blogspot.com/2010/10/zvezdas-172-snap-fit-serie.html

Due to the information on the website the germans will be in summer in the field, while the soviets in Autumn.

(All the information is from http://www.models2u.co.uk/ website!)

Yes, that's ALL!

Only 8 figures and 2 tank-sets..

There is no detailed information about the WW2 sets, so that we can't know about the production type.

Through sculptors hands or 3D-machines??

But it seems so, that there will be no more historic sets after these two announced!

That means?

Revell-Germany 2011 news in 1/72 scale!

Today another 2011 news-list regarding figures and military vehicles from Revell-Germany.

in January 2011:

scottish infantry/8th army (Re-issue!)

german infantry DAK (Re-issue!)

in July 2011:

german infantry (Re-issue!)

in August 2011:

american infantry (Re-issue!)

in September 0211:

british infantry (Re-issue!)

2 Re-issues of military vehicles in 1/72 scale;

in February 2011:

STUG IV
in April 2011:

PzKpfw. IV Ausf. H

(The pictures are from "Revell-Germany"-website!)

Only Re-issues in 1/72 scale is not so motivating for the collectors, but some of them can be bought and added to some collections, for those who missed or lost them. (like in my case!)

M4A3 75 mm. Sherman Fast-Assembly kit!

Those days are Italeri products - days!

I don't know if we may describe it this way, but I have done!

That's the third new-product from Italeri, all annouced in their 2010 catalog!

After their M4A2 Sherman III, fast-assembly kit:

this one is from the same family just with 75 mm. gun.

(The picture is from global-models website!)

The set contains as usual 2 models, each with 13 parts (the last Shermans had 15 parts!)

And with a special wargames decals sheet. (If someone can explain, their speciality? Maybe more resistant!?)

I heard you, saying:"Something new, but nothing new! No offence, but who misses a Sherman tank in his collection?!"

Maybe, you are right, if you are collecting and building models since 20-30 years.

But, especially the newcomers (you, know, this new generation, who should have everything very quick! Bought and done!) and the small ones, 5 till 10 years, beginners need those fast assembly kits, IMHO!

Because of that, "Thanks Italeri!"

and

No, I am also not tired of it!

Airfix 's Cromwell for 2011!

It's hard to believe, but it's announced on the Airfix website!
Next year there will be a Cromwell tank in 1/76 scale produced with a new tool! (The picture is from Airfix website!)

At first view I thought that it could be a reproduction of Revel's Cromwell.

The reason for this confusion is, that both models are so called "Rhino tanks".

Rhino was the nickname of Allied tanks fitted with hedgerow-breaching "tusks" in Normandy after D-Day.

The Airfix production will be a Cromwell, a british tank, and they referred to these "tusks" Prong.

This method of cutting through hedgerows was extremely effective in the bocage terrain of the area, where hedges were a serious obstacle for tanks. (Info from Wiki!)

But, after a closer look, you can also notice that there are some differences with the Revel model.
The part on the back side could be a "Deap wading gear" to drive the tank on the sea floor.

But this is only a suggestion, wait and look for an another explanation from Airfix!

After all that is the announcement in our hobby!

Airfix comes with a new mold!

the first armour vehicles on both sides and Clearness in Scale guestion!

Today we have pictures of the first armour vehicles from both sides:

German armour in the basic game will be represented by Panzer II, actually a light and uneffective tank against soviet counterparts!

Box:

and the back side of the box:

A finished model without any paint work:

I expected, honestly a Panzer III, a medium german panzer, as the main unit at the beginning of the OP Barbarossa!

But when I saw the soviet armour counterpart:

T-26 box:

and box back:

A finished model without any paint work:

Both Panzer consists of 5 parts and have their unit cards!

By the way, due to the information on the back side of the box we know that the armoured (and unarmoured ones logically!) have the 1/100 scale!

new Photos for scale comparision!

Here are some additional Photos, which could be helpful for scale comparision:

Figures, Panzer II from the boardgame and the newest t-34 in 1/72 scale form Zvezda:

and here: only Panzer II and T-34 (1/72)

The vehicles in the game will be definitely smaller then 1/72 scale.

Which scale?

While reading (after translated through "Google") messages in some russian forums I am a little bit confused about the scale of the figures and vehicles in the forthcoming boardgame of Zvezda.

Some say, it's 1/72, which matchs with the figures on the photos.

But there is a photo on which we can compare vehicle and figure, knowing the figures scale is 1/72, than the vehicle scale should be smaller one.

Maybe 1/100?

and a photo from Egmont russia tells us another story:

It's written: (thanks Google!)

Publishing House Egmont Russia in April, runs a unique collector's edition of the "Great Victory", which includes informative magazine, a board game and a set of figures, soldiers of the Soviet and German armies of the Great Patriotic War, as well as military vehicles in scale 1:144. The collection also shows aircraft, tanks, combat vehicles, weapons. The publication is richly illustrated with colorful patterns, hand-drawn images, photographs, maps, and contains unique information about the major battles.

and now 1/144 scale?

Lets wait and see!

Fujimi!

Bu yazıyı, Japon firması Fujimi'nın ürettiği Japon araçlarına ayırıyorum.

Hasegawa firması Japon kamyonları üzerine odaklanmışken, Fujimi 2 adet Japon tankı ve 1 adet kundakli top üretmiş.

WA-17 kodlu Chi-Ha Type 17
