Our first guest writer!

Today is a some special day for my blog, because I have a guest writer from Turkey.

Dr.M.Kerem ÖZKIR, from Trabzon/Turkey built "Einheitsdiesel" from "ZV models" in 1/72 scale and write a review.

He is 27 years old and works as a doctor in turkish army. His first model was a YAK-15 produced by a turkish firm PM. In those years, 80's, it was very difficult to find model paintings, that why he used gouache paints and covered them with UHU! (Yes, UHU!)

At the moment his favorite areas are AFV, WW1 aviation and historic figures, especially riders!

For WW1 airplanes he prefers Roden and Eduard, for historic figures Zvezda.

Regarding AFV he has no favorites, but nowadays the products of Revell and Trumpeter is an eye-catcher for him.

The number of his finished models are 175 (approx.).

Here we go (actually he goes!):

11800 vehicles were produced between 1937 and 1940 by Büssing-NAG, Borgward, MAN, Henschel, Magirus, FAUN, Krupp. 2.5 ton 6x6 truck constructed with 80hp diesel engine. During the first years of WWII Einheitsdiesel saw service in nearly all theaters with different body shapes. Then replaced with less expensive two-axle Opel Blitz.

After a brief knowledge of the truck, I will give information about the ZV Models's kit. Ukrainian producer has a fantastic kit with no problems. But quality control unit is poor. One of the sprues including mudguard, cabin interior units vs was missing. Despite the missing parts I've started to make model because of wondering how it looks like.

I've scratched sticks with sprue, covered game card with band-aid to make seat and made wheel with cupper wire.

Hand made exhaust can be seen left rear of the cabin.

The most difficult part to construct was mudguard. I made it too from play card.

Signed parts are handmade.

Thanks for Mr. Özkır and we are looking for another review.

Another new tooling from Airfix!

This one is actually not so brand new!

But I read it nowhere or I missed it!

Bedford QLT in typical Airfix scale, 1/76 and another new tooling!

Due to the photos you can build 2 different types, which means buy 2 boxes! But, compared with the following photo, which shows us the content, I can't imagine to build 2 types of it!

And this photo is from "britmodelle.com"-forum:

The good news is:

We have another new tooling from Airfix!

Bad news?

Not in those days! It's after Christmas and before New Year!

The first Italeri "Fast Assembly"-kit!

The "fast assembly"-kits from Italeri was for a long time in my radar, but the models produced till now wasn"t on my wish list, till I noticed this one:

Autocannone RO3 with 90/53 AA Gun in a 1/72 scale!

As usual the information from Wiki:

The Cannone da 90/53 was an Italian designed cannon, and one of the most successful anti-aircraft guns to see service during World War II. It was used both in an anti-aircraft role and as an anti-tank gun.

The designation "90/53" meant that the gun had a 90 mm caliber and a barrel 53 caliber-lengths long.

Fifty or so 57 were ordered to be mounted on heavy Lancia trucks and designated Autocannoni da 90/53.

The box includes 8 figures:

There are 2 sprues the above for the truck and the below for the AA gun:

At last I got one and build it!

and from the opposite side:

The rest of figures and the whole model will be painted and altered!

Starter Truck Toyota GB from Hasegawa!

The usual interest is in our hobby is more in the "Armored and Gunned" subjects.

But I think and hope, that there are times, where all modelmakers want to build something else.

For a moment like this, I advise you this little airfield truck from Hasegawa!
Although the kit does show its age, the parts appeared to be decently molded in light grey plastic with a minimal of flash.

The kit includes three poorly proportioned figures and a bomb cart in addition to the truck.

The bomb cart is a good addition, but the figures were and are always a weak point in Hasegawa’s production chain.

All together the kit has 50 parts and could be build with no major issues.

Some major parts, like the protective guard of the radiator, look oversized.

The bomb cart is to build easily with no major issues.

The only decals in the kit are the license plates, another weak point!

All required quite a bit of cleanup and ist’s done!

If you want to build a different model, sitting in your case with all the armored stuff, then buy it!

Japanese trucks in WW2 build by Hasegawa

Hello!

After finishing all the Japanese tanks in 1/76 scale, I am focused on the other japanese vehicles in small scales.

Sadly, the offer is not so great!

While Fujimi was specialized on tanks, another Japanese firm, Hasegawa, has 2 trucks in his own product range.

Code MT 16 Fuel Truck Isuzu TX-40

Code MT 17 Toyota Truck Starter

Before beginning with the construction, I would like to give brief information about the company.

Build in 1942, their first production were wooden models more for education.

Their first plastic model was a japanese warship "Yamato" in 1/450 scale.

After selling about 150,000 (yes, one hundred and fifty thousand!) pieces, they decided to produce in 1/90 scale, F-104 Starfighter, and in 1/70 scale, P-51 Mustang.

These two models reached also a very good sales numbers, so that they stopped the production of wood models, and focused on plastic model.

Their scales of production:

1 / 24 car

1 / 32 - 1 / 48 - 1 / 72 - 1 / 200 aircraft

1 / 72 land vehicles

1 / 350 and 1 / 700 ships

Recently, they created "Maschinen Krieger" series for children.

About company products, in my opinion, there is no need to comment more!

Both the mold, and plan and stage of crating is never falling below a certain quality, especially Hasegawa's 1/72 scale models of aircraft maintained to accept the market itself.

The company, cooperates in the European market with Revell, and in the North American market, with Revell and Dragon.

Our model is

MT 17-coded Starter Truck Toyota GB

Model's short history:

Kiichiro Toyoda, produced Japan's first truck Toyota G1 in 1935.

it was 6 meters long, and sould transport 1.5 tones(yes, one and a half!).
Ford and GM trucks were copied by the production of this truck.

19,870 units of our model "GB" type, were produced between 1938 and 1942.

There is a note in the production sheet:

"if you want to build a late-war model truck, due to the raw material shortage in Japan, you can leave one of the headlights or fenders."

Only this note is a proof for the quality of Hasegawa products!

The content of the box:

There are 51 parts in 2 separate sets.

8 parts belong to three figures, 9-parts are for the aircraft bomb and the carrier vehicle. There are 6 parts for building of the lift on the truck.

So, for building the main truck we just have 28 parts.

That means we have a model with a small number of parts, really relaxed to build!

Before starting to glue, the truck driver and truck tires have to be painted.

Used colors are khaki, black, tan, white and rust!

Please have a look for the photos (text in turlish):
