Today I found in a german online shop, this announcement:
"Following products, which was announced last year, are canceled:
IT-6110 1/72 Battleset BERLIN TWILIGHT(WWII)
IT-6152 1/72 Prussian Infantry
IT-6153 1/72 Austrian Artill.train
IT-6155 1/72 Apache Warriors
IT-6156 1/72 Austrian Artillery
IT-7516 1/72 2 x Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D
IT-3008 1/72 Sherman M4 & British infantry (WWII)
IT-3009 1/72 M3A1 Halftrack & US Paratr.(WWII)
IT-3208 1/72 Vietnam War"
Some of them (IT-61's and IT-7516) were announced also for 2010.
Is the reason the lack of demand?
But those are figures of popular periods, like WW2 and Napoleonics. (OK, not the "Vietnam War"!)
What does that mean for the future of Italeri?
Or for the future of 1/72 scale figures production?
They have cancelled the Apaches!! Are they insane...the WWII german stuff and the napoleonics..ok the market is overflowing with them but wild west stuff??
ReplyDeleteI don´t get it
Cheers
paul
HaT has already produced and released their Austrian artillery+train so that might be the reason for Italeri to cancel theirs.
ReplyDeleteIT-3008 1/72 Sherman M4 & British infantry (WWII)
IT-3009 1/72 M3A1 Halftrack & US Paratr.(WWII)
IT-3208 1/72 Vietnam War"
Were these supposed to be reissues?
IT-7516 1/72 2 x Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I was waiting for them so bad!

Hi Mojo,
ReplyDeleteMe too!
But I think, because of the HAET Armourfast production they canceled it!
and Paul,
I think, because of the "Waterloo 1815" -indians Italeri canceled their apaches!
"Sorry guys, but "Money talks!" and "Demand dectates offer!"
